That includes Which?, I quote from the latest article on Green Energy Deals which used the term energy rather than electricity five times before reaching this statement:
"In 2020-21, 40% of the UK's fuel mix is from renewable sources with a further 16% from nuclear power. Some 38% still comes from burning natural gas and 3% coal".

Tesla?s (and possibly other EVs) don?t even charge the 12V battery whilst connected to a charger once the traction battery is fully charged.
Somebody didn't read the BMW owner's manual as that states the maximum wading depth of the car. It can be surprisingly small as the air intake is often at sump level. My old Honda CRV (a soft-roader) had a wonderfully convoluted air intake with U bends in it to help stop you sucking in water to the engine. Though it was possible to suck water into the rear diff through the breather pipe if you went through deep enough water. Owner's manual said you should change the odd-ball rear diff fluid if you did that as it would ruin the wet multi-plate clutch in the automatic 4wd system if you didn't. Later models had a very long plastic pipe to try to keep the breather well above water level.
That 3 series in the video must have gone in fast as there was a big black oil slick after it stopped. Possibly wrecked the oil cooler or ripped the pipes of it. Or even the sump pan!
My friend's son hydro-locked his 3 series in a tiny flood. He was tip-toeing through a tiny flooded dip in the road and still managed to suck up water into the engine. New engine was needed as the old one had bent con-rods.
Same here. My car's a Nissan Leaf and it has a solar cell built into the roof to charge the 12V battery. Only trouble is I keep it in the garage so it won't get much charge! My sons suggested I could fit a window in the garage roof but as it's asbestos cement I think I'll give it a miss!

You do not need the second meter:-). It's just the supplier prefers it if you use one.
Assuming you have somewhere you can plug it in to charge. I don't. I am looking at getting a mild hybrid for my next car, but that is as electric it is possible for me to go.
And use the stop over to visit new places - if you not already been then about half way on your journey (depends which route you take?) are the National Coal Mining Museum and Yorkshire Sculpture Park and a Premier Inn just off junction 39 of the M1.

AC trains can regen - they just feed back into the substation transformer. Unlike DC, there's the whole of the grid as the potential load, rather than just the trains in that section of DC. Like many AC machines, you already have a VVVF inverter driving the motor. All you do is sequence the IGBTs in a different order and power feeds back to the grid - it's just software. UK trains have been doing this for about 15 years.
However, on DC I'm sad that there will be no car-carrying tube trains to Cockfosters.

It's nothing to do with the battery. It's all the stuff left on when the ignition is off.
But all that stuff is powered by the 12V battery, not the traction one which will hold its charge for months I believe. If you?re not using an EV for months you do need to take care to charge the 12V battery periodically (if it?s a lead acid battery - which I think most currently are).
