Better get an allotment or a second hand refrigerated truck?

Funny isn't it? The anti EU lobby have long wanted to 'put the UK first'. In other words, put their own interests first - not those of the UK.

And that movement has spread all over the world. 'Put myself first' Thus negating any advantage the Brexiteers were relying on to get them out of the shit with the country.

That would be interesting.

The UK is, at least nominally, a Christian country and as such Easter Sunday is the most important day of the year - far more than Christmas Day. That is why large shops MUST not open on Easter Sunday, but actually can, if they want, on Christmas Day!

I think that most should be abolished and everyone given the same number of days as holidays to be taken at a time of their choosing. As a contractor it annoys me to lose a day's pay at a time that may not suit me and, more importantly, who wants to go anywhere or do anything when everyone else is off and it's too busy?

It's different in Scotland.

Yes. Scotland has its own laws. Am I right in thinking that Scotland had Sunday opening way before the rest of the UK?

Yes yuo eat them at room temperature but store them colder that's why fridg es and freezers became popular in the home. Milk is the simplest example how many litres of milk would you keep in the fridge for between 30-80 people that might be inteligent enough to make a t ea or coffee themselves rather than ahve to co to the local coffee shops an d get charges £3 or more.

Is it because people are to stupid to feed themselves.

Why do peole have fridges and freezers at home then, surely they can go and buy fresh food just like those at work can.

Fresh milk will be fine out of the fridge for a day. Provided you don't leave it somewhere stupidly hot.

But you buy them ready made from a supermarket?

Yes today for the first time I tried chickpea coronation. Never had it in my life before.

I'm not usually sure what I'll fancy at the time even less sure nearly a day in advance. I don't like having to choose what I want to eat 18 hours before eating.

Tonight for instance as I'm off out I want something relatively quick. do have have spagbol the microwave version in sainsbury or the beef in blackbean source or chill-concarni, or anther sandwhich suns out it;s gettign warm, for me I'll decide tonight. Same as going to the pub I'll decide what I want to drink once I see what's on offer I can't decide now.

But he housing benefit levels were merely welling the profits of private landlords. I thought you would be against that.

Well oddly enough in the debate (if you can call it that) in the European parliament on the Canadian Free Trade Bill member after member stood up and said how grateful they were to Canada for coming to the aid of Europe in two world wars. Perhaps someone should have told them that in fact the Canadians came to the aid of the UK.

Mao once told his generals that they would never need to fight a war with the west. "We will defeat the west when they start to trade with us" he said.

All that has happened is councils now pay rather more for emergency short term housing - often to the same landlords who chucked out their tenants who couldn't pay their rent on the reduced housing benefit.

But at least the Express will be happy. Those feckless who can't afford an economic rent are now in worse accommodation than before. That it costs the rest of us more money doesn't matter.

Did they? Not the allies? You live and learn. Wonder what the vast number of French origin in Canada thought of that.

Reply to
Dave Plowman (News)

Well they didn't come to the aid of Germany or Italy.

Just commenting on the usual bert jingoistic thing. Europe is simply Europe - not a series of countries one of which being the UK.

The Canadians did liberate the Netherlands.

I'm not sure those Canadians of French origin came to the aid of the UK and not France.
