Oxford (or Cambridge) *University* is composed of *Colleges*.
London *University* is composed of *Colleges*.
(York University is composed of colleges but they are just residential units.)

In Britain, "college" never refers to a degree-awarding institution, though might refer to part of one, i.e. a university.
