Benchtop Disk/Belt Sander Options?

Feb 09, 2017 2 Replies

Years ago I bought a 10" bench top disk sander. I also made a simple jig for my hand held belt sander to use it on the bench. Basically just 2 clamps to hold it on a board. Both have served me well over the years, but I think I want a more versatile belt sander.

You guys keep coming with good options for my recent tool acquisitions, so let's try a combination disk/belt sander. Toss out some ideas for a choice or at least what features I should be looking for.

The one thing I should add is that whatever I get will be stored under the workbench and brought out when needed. A 50 pound unit with a cast iron base is probably not the best option for me.

Thanks!

Get one with a dust collection port. Two of mine have it, the third (a Grizzly) does not. So I only use it for sharpening.

Thanks. My current disk sander as a dust port. It certainly is a big help.
