Having said that hybrids are not just BEVs with auxiliary engines. They WILL have been charged through renenerative braking and the engine working to do that job at peak efficiency.

So its not as heinous as it sounds to simple minded greens, but keep that under your hat...

He means that most vegetable material, and probably animal as well, contains a small percentage of an inorganic component. Think wood ash, for example. And salt, an important component in mammalian diet, is certainly inorganic. But he's just being obtuse.

If you did the conversion I hope you paid the purchase tax, My Dad did similar to a Ford 100E Thames Van almost turning it into the Escort estate version, I say almost as it retained rear doors with their small windows rather than the tailgate fitted to the genuine article. For the rest of the time he owned it about 12 years he alway he had a nagging worry when he took it to the market town that somehow his unofficial conversion would be noticed and he would have to stump at the tax.

The cut out window panels remained in his shed long after the van and indeed he had gone, Whether he thought he could put them back if found out I don?t know. I finally skipped them on the post sale clear out of the farm a few years back which seemed a bit strange after they had been there all those years but you can?t keep everything. Other items had been stored in that shed since the it was built in 1912 but were too far gone to be worth keeping such as a set of candle lit carriage lamps. Up to the 70?s they were still intact but had corroded to dust when I went to move them.

It is as bad as it sounds if the stated average per gallon was 40 miles.

Remove the batteries, reduce the weight and the mileage per gallon would have been greater!

Most seem to quote the best MPG their vehicle has ever achieved. Not the worst, or even the average.

Mine's not a plugin so ultimately relies on petrol entirely. But having some electric component stops the round-town mileage sucking.

GM Crops? What about the latest ideas, eating insects and synthetic milk and meat ie no livestock as they make too much gas. Brian
