OT:EU, our friend and ally?

Hypocrite, you complain when the EU pass laws that affect the UK and are now complaining that they aren't interfering with Spanish law.

You won get over it and spend your state benefits on something other than internet access.

Of course. We get to vote on the government regularly. Why should this be any different?

Accurate analogy.

They don't have the facts.

Hahahahahahahahaha. ;-(

Put Dianne Abbott on the case. She'll sort it all out.

It's hard to imagine that she could do any worse!

I'll translate for you: 'The non-legally-binding poll suggested a minority of the electorate would like to leave the EU. However, I wonder what percentage of the Brexiteers actually wanted this 'all or nothing' solution?

Yes, some people understood what the implications were. Few agreed on all those things though.

Because you only think in black and white?

No, this seems to be something common to all the fanatical Brexiteers, they really can't see how others don't think (in B&W) like them, or how they may not be willing to make any such important decisions on little actual fact? ;-(

As has been mentioned elsewhere ... if you were / are so sure what

*all* Brexiteers (let alone, 'most people' they think they represent) wanted why are we still discussing any of it? We knew the rules for the club when we joined and have a 'VIP' membership in any case so it should be all the things you mention or nothing and I can't see why we couldn't just not have any of it if we didn't want?

Except, it seems no all Brexiteers have issues with all of it or realise that to get benefits you might also be obliged with some obligations?

Hard when your leader still lives somewhere between 1917 and 1991.

And that's both the truth and the pity ... that these people may well do as you say (and many fear) muck it up for the very people that they say they are trying to protect. ;-(

As I have said all along, I have no more confidence that it will be worse than it will be better but they seem to have some insider knowledge that there is no question that it will be better but for some reason they don't want to share said information with us (or more importantly, their / our offspring). ;-(

Yeahbut. I don't think it's that simple - or even an accurate representation of what happened. No qualifications and poor were far higher indicators of supporting leave (>70% +) than aged 66+ (60%). Of course there's overlap, but still.

It could be argued that it was precisely because the strongest supporters of leave were those with nothing much left to lose staged an anti-establishment protest?

Probably because he knows that some are (binding)?

Not sure what that has to do with anything?

You are probably older than most here and mush have had a (failed) part in them and that's why they are still painful to you? ;-)

Nope, most remainers I know (/of) are more interested in the here and now and the future ... and how good or bad it might be.

But please keep dropping in these nice little anecdotes ... I'm sure they might be interesting to someone. ;-)

Are they trying to protect anyone?

Better the devil you know.

Because they don't have such information. Independent reports suggest otherwise too.

I've never seen that mentioned or suggested Andy?

The point is / was that for such a big decision that is supposed (if you were to suspend the gang mentality them / us mentality for a second) would be questioning how 48/52 (of those who voted) truly represented anything?

We aren't talking a football match with one more goal than the other team is 'a win', we are talking of a tiny majority of some of the people making a very important decision on behalf of all of the people when it's far from clear (even now) exactly what was wanted by either side and less predictably, what they will actually get? ;-(

We aren't talking a game here, this is (or could be) life and death for some and to make a decision without all the facts (or as many as can me gleaned over time and with the right resources (like the 58 independent reports the Government currently has in it's hands),

*before* we indicate our preference is downright irresponsible.
