I sometimes buy from Amazon, but I dont pay for Prime and usually arrange to place orders which meet the threashold for free delivery. I don't buy from Amazon if I want the goods urgently.
I placed an order in mid December, went throught the "no thanks, I really don't want Prime - no really" process, then ensured I had clicked on the "free delivery" option and not the paid delivery option default. It said delivery would be on 24th December. I wasn't in a hurry for the items, but that was fine with me.
I clicked on "Place Order" (or whatever it says on that button). The page refreshed and told me the order had been placed - and that delivery would be on 2nd or 3rd January!
Yesterday I placed another order for two books. Order details showed delivery would be on 5th January. Clicked on "Place Order" and was told delivery would be 12th to 15th January!
Note. The delivery date only changes after you have placed the order.
Is this what they call bait and switch? Or just a close cousin?
Does this happen to everyone?
