Of course a call centre will lay off staff _until_ call volumes are higher than they can comfortably manage - so I suppose that amounts to the same thing.

I've recently cancelled - quite easy to find the button in the Manage Account section.

But it's not called cancel any more - they call it 'Suspend Your Account'. I don't remember seeing a 'cancel and wipe my data' option.

A lot of items priced under the minimum threshold can be delivered free to a local collection point/Post Office. States that it normally takes 3 days but often is there in 2 & in one case, even arrived next day.

Often an item is marked as dispatched as soon as it has been packed & is awaiting collection by the courier which can be several days later. One seller told me I had missed the delivery window because they only take their items to the Post Office once a week.

If you buy Royal Mail postage online, they give you about three days to take it to a Post Office, not a week.

I _think_ I was offered a choice between "Suspend your Account" and "Cancel your Account" (I chose the former for no particular reason). A suspension lasts up to one year, at which point it is cancelled if it has not been 'resumed'.

I got the initial figure of 15 million by asking an AI, so it may well be flakey. However I asked elsewhere and it seemed to be confirmed: the new estimate was 15 to 20 million.

I agree that this does sound on the high side.
