Kitchen Mixer Tap with hose

My wife came back from visiting a friend in Germany raving about all the kitchen gadgets ! :>(

One thing she was particularly impressed with was the kitchen mixer tap on which the spout was on a hose so you could pull it out to clean round the sink etc.

Anybody seen these in this country, and plese tell me they are so expensive that she'll be put off. I've only just replaced the existing mixer tap and the oick who assembled the kitchen put the tap on back to front so it was the devil's own job to get it off.

There was a thread about these in here a little while back.

IKEA had them when I was last there, somewhere around £100 IIRC.

My parents put one like this in their kitchen about 25 years ago. I belive it wasn't used for the last 24 years. Last year they got a new kitchen and stuck with normal taps.

Tre Mercati do one in their "Modena" range £92 or a "deluxe" version for £122. Others must do them as well, and probably cheaper :)

We have "Modena" taps, but we didn't get the one with the hose though, we wouldn't use it :)

I got one in Homebase a longish time ago - I'm sure they're fairly common, and I would have loved it if only it had worked.

You MUST have high pressure, the one I bought had 6mm tails, I thought they were 10mm as I didn't know there was such a thing as 6mm!

Completely useless in my hovel, though I tried raising the tank which nearly doubled my (pathetic) head.

So if you've got the pressure, give it a go, if not, forget it

They're around, usually in the 'quality' kitchen shops. You won't see them in the sheds.

I stuck with a cheapy mixer on mine, it's not like they're difficult to upgrade ...

Cheers,

Paul.

Homebase, of all places, are currently selling them - in their newer kitchen sections. £65 IIRC. Tempted to get one, but I need one in brass effect to match the rest of the kitchen. Look like a great idea to me.
