USPS slowdown

I had a canvasser show up at the door a few minutes ago. She asked 'Can we count on your support for Steve Bullock?' He's the current governor running for Senate. When I said 'Not a chance.' she went away.

Bullock hasn't been a bad governor but for me he's in the wrong party at the wrong time. Tester, the other Senator, is a Democrat and I've voted for him twice but that was before the Democratic antics. It's come down to which party disgusts me more and despite Trump the Democrats win the door prize.

Early voting allows for better checking of ballots and mail handling. I think most people had their mind made up a couple of months ago. They either love or hate Trump. No one I talked to is wavering because of the party platform. The republicans did not even bother to make one, just four more years of Trump. If you like what he has done, you will vote for him and that is a solid 40% or so. If you think he is a moron, you will vote for Biden. Exception is about 18 people that will vote for Jo Jorgenson and 4 that will vote for Kanye.

I don't see it as a game changer at all. More democrats want to vote by mail to Trump is making is as difficult as possible and casting doubt on the results.

Yeah, specially on the big spending stupidities like weatherizing' houses, at this time when the virus is costing heaps, sanctuary states and cities, climate change, and their war mongering.

Going to be interesting to see how many agree tho and how many are royally pissed off about the repugs ending up with trump; It was a very narrow win last time and it is hard to see that trump has got too many new trumpets since then. Those that will now vote for trump are likely to be those very pissed off with Joe's sillier policies and the risk of dems with both houses and the presidency and what that could lead to.

Amen, brother. Maybe right after inauguration Trump'll have a relapse and Pentz will move up from VP.

Went to look at the Bullock campaign -- identical tactic as the Senate race here -- the Democrat never even comes close to mentioning she's a Democrat but is the "work with both sides" candidate.

Wasn't a single word or indication on the web page that gave a clue as to Bullock's party affiliation -- if you didn't know.

Sneaks, all of 'em. At least could own up.

Nope.

It's just that like it was four years ago, the alternative is even worse.

That is right. A suppressor/moderator/silencer only dampens the noise and the sound of the shot is still heard and can be very loud. At the range I have electronic ear muffs so I can converse but shooting noise cancels it out. Even if everyone at the range had silencers you still would probably need sound protection.

I mentioned before that I was not initially a Trump supporter but looked at his platform after he won the primary here and liked it. He is also been true to it. Not your normal politician.

No, I think it was casinos I voted against. There may not have been a referendum on the lottery. Casinos won too. I visited one NE of Baltimore, near the turnpike toll booth. It was very quiet at 4PM.

You have a good point. FWIW, the illegal numbers paid better than the lotto. It paid (pays?) $600 on a dollar bet and the lotto only pays $500. There was nothing illegal equivalent to the big payoffs. I guess.

And I guess sometimes no one hit the number, so the bet takers made extra and yetthere was no rollover for illegal bets, so maybe I'm wrong above. I dont' know the rules well enough.

Still, I'm not so much against betting as I am the government making money off of it and thereby endorsing it. . Running ads like "You have to play to win" It's also true that you have to play to lose. I find their stupid signs about some 800 number to call if you're "addicted" to be a flimsy gesture while they continue to empty the pockets of people who can't afford to lose. If private owners did this it wouldn't be so bad, because people have been warned not to trust businessment, but we're suppose to be able to trust our own government. When people realize they can't, it lowers trust in other aspects of the govt. too. Maybe if we had no casinos and no lottery or lotto, we wouldn't have right-wing militias resisting the police.

I concur that people are not voting for Biden but are voting for or against Trump. That is why I think if people were to thoroughly consider Biden's platform they would not vote for him. They do not want open borders, increased taxes, lawlessness and all the things his platform would lead to.

I made up my mind 4 1/2 years ago. :-) but no joke

But that's silly. They should remove all the things that he's accomplished and add new goals for the future.

Wait... he hasn't accomplished any of the old goals.

Yes, I wonder what the children and grandchildren of the governor of Texas and other anti-democracy officials think of their parens and grandparents. I wonder if t he officials care about how their grandchildren remember them.

No one is in favor of open borders. That's a crackpot story started by Republicans.

I haven't read this but it's supposed to sum up the Democrat positions on immigration.

There is a risk factor but Trump has pissed off a lot of people. Do you take a chance on Biden getting anything done? Doubt taxes will personally affect me and I think the states, especially red ones will take care of lawlessness.

What also bothers me, Trump is a schoolyard bully but none of the other republicans will even try to make some common sense and they just tow his line. I think it will bite them in the ass for being eunuchs. As it should.

Aren't there any Republican senators retiring this year. I have to check but I can't do it now. If so, how come none of them will stand on their hind legs and oppose trump at all? How come none endorse Biden?

I guess I did have time.

Lamar Alexander Republican Tennessee Mike Enzi Republican Wyoming Pat Roberts Republican Kansas

Also: Tom Udall Democratc New Mexico

So why don't Alexander, Enzi, or Roberts do something?

It would be very unusually late to do that. Much more common to happen about now.

Even that isnt certain if he does have a relapse. Only about 20% of those his age get killed by the virus.

Unsurprising given most repugs didn?t want trump at all.

I understanding that the topic of this thread is "USPS slowdown" and that discussion has been hijacked and degraded. However, I submit what follows:

At the NRA convention during 2016, candidate Trump promised that nationwide concealed carry reciprocity would be his #1 issue regarding gun rights if he was elected. During 2017 in Atlanta, after he was elected, he reiterated that promise.

For the first two years of his presidency, he enjoyed a Republican-controlled Congress to accomplish that.

Do we have that now? No. There are many reasons why, but Trump did not follow through with his promise to push for nationwide reciprocity. This is only one example.

Montana Democrats have a problem. They aren't a good fit with the DNC but they aren't Republicans. In a two party system, what are you going to do? Racicot was a Republican that championed energy deregulated that raised the cost of energy enough to put several smelters and a pulp mill out of business. He slithered off to higher things in the RNC and was followed by Judy Martz, an Olympic speed skater, rodeo queen, and garbage company owner. After a few scandals she decided not to run again so it's been Democratic governors since 2005. If you only looked at their records it would be hard to discern they were Democrats.

When it comes to presidential elections the state has went blue twice in the last 50 years. The first was the Goldwater debacle and the other was when Perot got enough Republican votes that Clinton sneaked ahead.

The Senate race is too close to call. If the Democrats had absolutely no chance of getting the Senate, I'd vote for Bullock. If he loses he can thank Biden, Pelosi, AOC, Schumer, Schiff, and the rest of the DC assholes. Negative coattails.

Simple. Like most politicians he says what sounds good at the moment. They all do it, Trump more than most. He wanted the NRA backing. Please donate too.
