Gas here is ~$2.70 a gallon today (£0.53 a liter?) I get gas cards from the grocery store that get me 20% off ($50 card for $40) and my Shell loyalty card knocks off another $0.05 to $0.20 a gallon so gas is pretty cheap for me. I can still get up around $150 or more if I am filling cans for my boat.
ack down to $1.067 per liter at Waterloo Costco yesterday. Was $1.279 a couple weeks ago. Not hard to put $75 in the Ranger at those prices.

There seems to be a lot of abandoned farm equipment sitting out back in the pastures or where ever it's out of the way. It's stuff that quit working or something the dealers wouldn't take in trade. Maybe the heirs didn't have the means to get the junk to the junk yard. There must be some farmers who never traded a thing judging by the stuff out back. My mom claimed that wasn't so during WWII. Supposedly any metal was hauled in to be used in the war effort.

On any subject in fact. Too stupid to even manage to work out what to get qualified in that would provide a job where he chooses to 'live' in a slum in some small town in Scotland. He'd got an honours degree in physics. About all that would work for is a job as a teacher there, but they kicked him out when he tried that. He now stuffs their equivalent of Avon catalogs thru letterboxes in the front doors of houses, with the dogs inside savaging his fingers as he does that.

Around here the "temporary" signals are USUALLY fixed time - occaisionally use a sonar or ultrasound sensor.
The traffic actuated fixed signals virtually all use loop sensors here.
10 years ago any piece of metal laying loose would be picked up and recycled. They were even stealing A/C condensers from the side of people houses for the metal. People were cruising neighborhoods looking. I put out a pile of aluminum from a demolition and it was gone in 27 minutes. These days nobody will take much of anything. I assume it is a sign of a better economy and a lower unemployment rate but it also shows what has real value and what doesn't. Nobody was picking up scrap paper or plastic. Glass was always simply trash.
Yeah, it is here and its trivial to see that its doing that from how it changes the lights.
Not so much with temporary traffic signals tho because of the problem with having a loop in that situation.

I got a degree in what I was best at, seems sensible to me. You can't predict what jobs will be available in the future.
There's a place 10 miles from here where they will pay you for scrap metal. Not sure if they can deal with something as big as farming equipemtn though, the farmer might have to cut it up first.
