Walmart must have made a deal with FedEx to make Sunday deliveries. They surprised me today by delivering a package that had previously been scheduled for Thursday, then changed to Monday. It seems like a money losing deal for FedEx, especially since they have to drive 90 miles from the big city to get here. I'm not even a member of Walmart + where you pay monthly for two day delivery.
Has anyone else received packages on Sunday?

Fedex GROUND and RESIDENTIAL are _NOT_ handled by Fedex itself. These are run by independent contractors.
I haven't heard of UPS doing the same but it's possible.
Anyway, these affiliated groups routinely handle Sat and Sun deliveries.
USPS is trickier. The sender can purchase "Express Mail" _with_ Sunday delivery surcharge (until a decade or so ago it was the same price).
THere are _also_ areas where, under the USPS "last mile" contract with AMazon and some others, they'll provide Sunday service.
Sunday has just become another day. I think it was Amazon that made the first Sunday delivery contract with USPS and the other companies have had Sunday delivery for quite a while. IBM had Sunday FedX back in the 90s but it wasn't residential as far as I know. We had a parts center right in the FedX depot in Memphis. The dispatch system could arrange a FedX drop without even talking to the hardware guys.
I have received packages on Sunday (ordered from amazon.com, delivered by USPS). I never asked for (and paid extra for) Sunday delivery.
