what does error code 6E mean on a whirlpool duet dryer?

Whirlpool Duet dryer, model #GEW9250PW1, light stays on when door is closed. Will not start. Error code 6E appears when in diagnostic test mode. No signal when door is closed. I am looking to fix this myself. Thank you.

Do you get different codes with the door open and closed? I wasn't sure what you meant by "no signal"

Whirlpool 6E  dryer error code is undocumented and appears to be an issue with either the control panel or the user interface. Unfortunately, both are pretty expensive replacement parts, so I would start by just trying to re-seat the connecting cable between them. If you see no change, start with a replacement user interface (a.k.a. User Control and Display Board, P/N 8558753)

I have not got different code.
