I have a Craftsman 315.175040 router that I use on a router table. I took the motor out of the base so I could see if it fit in a new router table I was trying out. I had to remove the screws holding the two parts of the depth adjusting ring in order to get the motor out, but now cannot figure out how to get the motor back in. It'll go thru part way, but not enough to expose the router bit. The users manual shows the red adjustment ring and the black indicator ring as two parts, but they don't seem to come apart. Best guess is I need to spread the two parts of the adjusting ring apart in order to set the motor deep enough, but cannot do so as long as the indicator ring is in place.
Ideas?
