Infinity Bits

Anyone ever use Infinity router bits? I saw an ad and did a search. Found them on Amazon.

Wanted input on actual usage.

Thanks

Maybe I'm blind but I don't see a cutting length on at least some of the bits. I also wouldn't be happy paying $10 per bit for shipping. If they're really good bits, the price wouldn't scare me, for the most common profiles.

I believe these are the Jesada bits, renamed. In the day, they were high quality bits.

And for whatever reason, while they have the $9.90 shipping charge on them, I did a test run and put 2 bits into my cart for a total of ~ $185 and the shipping was free. As soon as I took one out, leaving me with a single $99 bit, the shipping came up as $9.90.

I DO have a Prime account but neither item was listed as free shipping or "Prime." YMMV but if buying more than one, I wouldn't be too put off by the shipping charge until you get to the point of tripping the trigger.

The user reviews for these bits seems pretty uniformly high.

They send me catalogs regularly...the web site is

I've used some of them like the window sash cutter set and one of the architectural moulding ones I think.

Wouldn't say any better/worse than CMT at about same price point...and about same as Whiteside. I think Amana still is "cream of the crop".

Their shipping is free over $100 for most anything, I think. Fairly standard straight UPS rates, roughly otherwise.

As far as whether they're Jesada reincarnated, I've no idea...

I'd forgotten the past...

Infinity is the new(ish 2003) startup of the Venditto clan that started with the father who was Freud USA President then went out on his own with CMT/USA. Then he decided to procure product directly and continued to market it under and use the CMT name/color scheme. CMT (Italy) sued and won and that shot that down. Jesada was next...what took them down I don't know...

Two sides of the story; take your pick -- White or other colored hats... :)

I guess comparing them to CMT was no accident... :)

Work fine for me. I have no idea if this is a good price or not.

They are a quality bit. And the parent company has been around for many years.

Way back when, they were know as, IIRC, CMT USA. Those we a mix of Italian and USA made bits with no real distinction. CMT of Italy took them to court for misrepresentation of their name, won, and as a result the USA company was renamed. All bits were Orange.

JESADA became the new company with same good quality bits. They were in business for many years. IIRC the name came from the first two letters of the owners children's names. Jessy, Sara, And David. All bits were White.

For what ever reason, IIRC the owner sold Jesada and his son David formed Infinity. The Jesada bit quality went down hill after the owner sold Jesada and I'm not certain that the company exists anymore. Infinity bits are now Silver.

Infinity evolved from Jesada after Jesada was sold. Infinity was formed after the sale. Jesada bit quality went down after the sale.

Dad sold the company, The new owners of Jesada let the quality go down hill. The David part of the Jesada name, da, started his own company, Infinity,

Are they better than Whiteside? They're about the same price.

IMO, they're certainly no better and overall I'd still give the edge to Whiteside for reliability of knowing for certain.

The two Infinity I have haven't yet enough linear feet on them to judge longevity as compared to some Whiteside that have gobs of use.

Cut quality is OK; still not up to Amana, though, imo...

IOW, IMO they're nothing special that several other manufacturers of own brand don't produce for similar price.

Some of their sets are pretty cost-effective if you can use the content of the set enough to justify the whole thing instead of just one or two.

I bought the window sash set to compare profile to old work on hand to see if could grind to match. Haven't got around to the latter; did run a couple of sticks through to try out. As above, certainly satisfactory; nothing special.

Wish _somebody_ would remake the old Delta 1/2" spindle shaper cutters again -- it's the stub spindle undercut matching cut for the full tenon on top/bottom rails that's the kicker...

Hard to say, now. I cannot remember the last time I bought a router bit. I seldom use the router for anything anymore. I just recall that they were as good as anything I had.

Thanks for the inputs. If these are similar price to Whiteside. I'll stick with WS or Amana. I'll have to do some comparison.
