General machines

Any recommendations for an online dealer for General (Canada) machines?

When I bought my saw, I remember some dealer to dealer battles over true online sales. General may have a Minimum Advertised Price policy.

I bought my 650 from toolsplus.com, but I picked it up locally. At the time, a Florida dealer had the saw for $150 less (without my state's sales tax), and I had access to free northbound truck space. After showing the ad to Tools Plus, the Florida dealer couldn't come up with a saw to sell, and the price was removed from his website.

I bought my 650 locally; it is one fantastic machine! To me, the benefit of actually seeing the iron I will own is worth more than a few bucks. Dave

question. I live in Texas. The nearest dealer for woodworking machines manufactured by General (the Canadian woodworking machine manufacturer) in the state of Texas is located in San Antonio, a distance of over 700 miles. When I accessed the General website, I noticed a dealer in Tucson (much closer) but then it occurred to me that there *might* be a dealer who sells online and *might* have favorable shipping costs. I said to myself, "Self, post a message to the wreck and see if someone has a *recommendation* for an online dealer". So....... I'm still trying.

It's a Woodcraft store. There's also one in Chandler. Arizona Hardwoods and Woodworking Machinery in Phoenix also handles General machines but didn't have the one I wanted although they can special order it. See:

75-500 22' drill press. I got an e-mail from General directing me to a dealer in San Antonio. I'm advised that most dealers don't stock the 22" because of low demand but the San Antonio dealer has them.
