has anyone got/fitted one of these ?
I had to replace the flush which originally came with my concealed cistern ("Pacific - long since obsolete").
After googling, with a heavy heart, I decided to chance my local (less than a minutes walk !) plumbers merchants.
To my pleasant surprise they had the named item as a replacement (which is what googling told me).
Less of a surprise was the fact that the shoptender didn't know how it worked. Or indeed anything else.
So, 2 questions.
1) There are 2 adjusters on the unit. One for half flush, one for full. The scale seems a tad arbitrary. "1-5" for full and "0-17" for half. I am guessing these are some relativistic units, as the exact volume discharged will be a function of the size of cistern ?2) Unlike the previous unit which had a long press/short press mechanism, the new unit has a dual-button flush which operates the mechanism. For the life of me I can't seem to see any difference between the two. Is there a knack.
The "instructions" were a masterpiece in brevity. Clearly paper costs more than plastic, as the entire unit came with loads of bits that aren't needed in most installations.
On the plus side (and I am terrified of tempting fate here) replacement was easier than I feared, and nothing has leaked yet. (Age and experience have trained me to leave all enclosings off for a week, to ensure there are no micro-leaks :) )
