Is there a warning that DIY in the bathroom should always be done with the loo lid closed (especially when lots of tiny components are involved)?
Is it in big block capitals?

Also plugs in holes, especially when working on taps!
And when working on the drainage below. This may mitigate the standard error of removing the trap while keeping a bucket underneath, then emptying the bucket down the same hole.
Or more likely when you pass a clogged trap full of gunge to your partner and ask them to empty it... not managing to get the instruction about not doing it into the sink you are under out in time!
More important always to flush!
