Re: Car Leasing rant

As a continuation of the document saga with this car dealer, they are now demanding that I send my driving licence. This I will not do, because of the potential for cloning, whilst out of my sight. I have sent signed documents and a household bill and a picture of the licence, but it appears they dont trust me, so why should I trust them.

I thought this system was meant to stop you having to physically send it? Generate a code and send them that ...

It didn't respond in the code box, just said apply on line for your licence.

No code generated in the box, just apply for your licence online.

weird, but you can view your licence/entitlements ok? I still have a paper non-photo licence.

No,but the leasing agent is looking for a finance house that uses digital data entries. I have not this signed paper (14 pages) requirement over the last 7 years.

I've still got a paper licence (Not for much longer 70 in August) It generates check codes from my driver number & NI.

I don't understand why the OP is getting a "Reply online for your licence" which seems to imply the one he has isn't valid. If it was me I would be ringing the DVLA to ask them.
