So what was the £8b spent on that was not NHS related?

Two in another trust got away with fraud, without being prosecuted by resigning and taking similar jobs in other trusts, There's a former builder who created a fictitious CV and was head of two trusts, before a routine NHS check exposed him for what he was, being prosecuted. The first trust gave him the CEO job without checking qualifications or previous employment. The second checked previous employment but not qualifications. He had no qualifications or previous health experience.

No idea, it didn't list them all. Some of them were fires caused by smokers.

In The Netherlands they ask for details of your insurance company and your national ID number,every resident in NL has one it is used for taxation, driving licences etc. too. Private medical insurance is mandatory in The Netherlands. In a German hospital I was asked to fill in a form which included a bank account number from which they could debit the bill.

Doesn't make it any the less true, though. Just as when Mandy said it.

So effectively if you don't have ID details with you and are in a position to give them, no treatment?

The logic of that statement is the NHS would run just fine with no money at all. For those who live by sound bites.

Everybody obliged by law to carry ID in The Netherlands. Foreigners must carry a passport at all times. European foreigners should have an EHIC European Health Insurance Card. In Germany the hospital administrator wanted to have me kicked out of the hospital because she didnt recognise my insurance and because my Dutch bank account number hadn;t the same format as a German bank account. I never found out if I was going to be dumped outside the hotel with a badly fractured leg because the senior surgeon intervened and told her to have a bit of common sense.

and the private sector would get even richer, whilst the poor wouldn't be able to afford treatment. Isn;t this how it is in the USA?
