Home Delivery B&Q

Oct 16, 2006 9 Replies

I've recently had two home deliveries from B&Q. Both of them were only what could be described as shambolic - first item not delivered on first arranged date; not delivered on second arranged date - two days taken off work - then delivered with no notice when fortunately there was someone in. Second item not delivered on stated date: three totally different reasons given : firstly the item was delivered and left at the house; when disputed I was told that the item was delivered but there was no-one in; finally I was told the item was delivered but I had rejected it; none of them true as far as I'm concerned. The latest is that it will be delivered on November 14th - that will be just 7 weeks after I ordered it. Have I just had bad luck - or is this the norm with B&Q?

Don't know about "the norm" but my daughter in law had much the same with a six week wait. In the end they cancelled the order and went elsewhere. This was the Stirling branch

The only problem I've had with building supplies is them coming early in the morning, very early, ten past seven to be precise and they don't start 'til eight!...sadly they dropped everything (flags, sand, MOT etc) in the middle of the area that I was working on, meaning I had to move everything off to start levelling, then bring everything back....the only time slot they could give me was 'between 8AM and 8PM'

sposed to be free delivery on items over £200. I ordered french doors for £430 from B&Q Bristol, not available at diy.com. They wanted £30 to deliver

25 miles. We have a local B&Q branch but only warehouse stocked them. Managed to negotiate delivery to £15 but it took me half an hour. Then delivery was two days late cos their truck broke down.

Absolutely no problems when I ordered kitchen units from their website. Arrived when they said it would with no breakages or missing parts (other than what I forgot to order - LOL!).

I will seriously NEVER order again from B&Q.

This is a copy of something I sent to their customer support email address:-

No reply from them, strangely.

well the "man at b and q" would say that wouldn't he?

I'm fortunate that I don't have to venture into their stores very often. The last time I thought I'd was wearing sunglasses the lighting in their store was so bad. Before my next visit, if I remember, I'll take my head torch.

I'm no more than a satisfied customer.

Anyone remember the Man at C&A, I used to shop there as well?

MBQ

COuld they possibly be related?
