Tell me.
Tell me.
Ah right. :-) Accepted that meets what I asked for, but in Drivel's context, I was expecting at least equivalent storage to an iPad. Which would be 16 GB - and to "pee all over the i-pad" I'd hope it was at least 32, maybe 64 or 128 GB.
Good sized SSD's are about £80-£100.
Look at laptop pices and SSD's
What is the quality and reliability of the Asus laptops?
but not as usable that's the main point.
Or the ipad mini.
be interesting to see some real world test between these devices now.
This one also has a 32 Gig SD card in it. It has also been known to run Windows XP quite well.
Only 7" tablets are any good on road.
In this case, very slow, and about as reliable as you'd expect given the price. It did the job it had to do for a while, though.
Total tripe!! They have proper keyboards and far more powerful. i-pads are good for children and games - the main uses of them.
Can you please use a decent news editor as yours leaves massive line spaces.
We'll be able to tell that from sales figures in teh near future.
but do you mean one of these
Why can;t it.
or anywhere else.
depends on yuor uses I guess, but for on the road I'd prefer an iphone.
Me too.
I just shoved a 32Gb SD card in it and use that for /home
160 GB are surely hard drives - not SSD?
Are you dead, then? Explains everything.
Which version of *nix? There are many versions of *nix, and Linux is a replacement for Minix, which is not Unix. If all you knew was Unix, that would explain your ignorance of the others.
Eh? Crucial has 256 and 512G available. 256 is less than 125 quid.
Not at those prices though! Agree about availability.
Google Chromebook.
the chromebook at a mini ipad price of =A3279 has a 16GB SSD same as the i= pad mini.
The HD webcam/facetime is about the same, but the isight camera is 5MP not =
1.3MP , the display is large but has lower pixel resolution it seems.and the chromebook wieghs nearly 5 times the ipad, I seriously can;t see an= y advantage in the chromebook over the ipad mini unless you need a 'compute= r'
If you want a laptop with SSD storage they are available. Same spec as an iPad will cost £200 more than the iPad.
Comparing like with like would leave one looking for a notebook with comparable spec to the iPad 2. So you're looking for a notebook with SSD for less than £329 that has more than 10 hours battery life. Good luck with that.
Looking at Novatech, getting a net book with 1GB of RAM and their cheapest SSD is going to cost more than an iPad. The netbook screen is crummy compared to even the iPad 2. Fuzzy and lower resolution.
