Rising-butt hinges -- where to buy?

Note: Post order fixed.

Man, those are cool. I never thought of them. Would have saved me alot of trouble during my remodel.

I believe Stanley makes some??? At least at one time, long-long ago... :)

Not used a pair in 30 years since, so don't have a clue about currently, but I'd try there.

I've tried "everywhere" to find rising-butt hinges, including at a specialist hardware store that sells all kinds of door and cabinet hinges, latches and handles. Nobody has heard of them, except that the buyer for this latter store knew what I was talking about but said that he had no idea where to get them.

The Ace Hardware Web site describes them on a DIY information page, but Ace does not list them as an available item. One vendor in San Diego lists one size, but for an outrageous price.

Anybody have any suggestions as to where I might find such things? Perhaps there's an obvious source that I haven't thought of.

can be a little tricky to use. As the door rises to clear the rug or whatever, there needs to be clearance at the top to not hit the jamb.

I've I've never seen hinges on anyone's butt! (Regardless if the butt was rising or falling) :)
