I was just trying to point out why the mulch was useless, I think it was Clare who said we were supposed to be mulching trails with it. I was still talking about the s*it that grows out of that mulch.

Anything that gets too big can easily be cut back / trimmed / destroyed with power tools.
In fact my neighbour was in my garden yesterday trying his best to destroy my elderberry tree which he claims grows really fast and keeps ripping the fence out of the concrete mountings. To be fair I think it is, the fence does seem rather unstable for something mounted in concrete. I left him to it, as he seems content to kill it and repair the fence at his own cost and time :-) We'll see if he's successful next year, he cut it to the stump 5 years ago when he erected the fence, but it grew back. He seems to think he can drill holes in the trunk and pour in diesel to kill it. My money's on the tree.

On the other hand, Australian Pine is very tolerant of sand, sun and salt spray, stabilizes sandy, windblown soil, and grows quickly producing firewood in places where few other tree species can grow. I've seen it referred to as "the best firewood in the world."

You must have been looking at a different video. I saw them dragging a huge chain across the land ripping out every living thing.
It is not my pile of mulch and when the contractor tried to burn it he got a cease and desist order from the environmentalists. Then he decided to burn it anyway. The fire department spent 2 days putting the fire out and warned him that if there was any more "spontaneous combustion" there he would start getting a bill when they came. Like I said, you must not have any lawyers there.
