Here is another post in my amateur ?What is it?? tool threa d. As usual, I will try to answer questions about their composition, size a nd how they can move. Pictures are provided via Dropbox. L. Flynn



POST18_TOOL69. This wooden and metal tool is a little over ten inches long. The metal part is tapered but the tip is broken. The metal part has a coar se surface with one face flat and the other rounded.

POST18_TOOL70. This wooden tool is a little over 12 inches long. The ends o f the shafts have slight centered indentations. One end has a hollowed out component surrounding the shaft. This rounded component has a diameter of



2½ inches and extends 1¼ inches along the shaft. It has three ? ? inch diameter hole equally spaced. There are 20 slits between each adja cent pair of holes. The component is open about the shaft end but is firml y attached at the other end. Just next to this component there are three mo vable loose rings on the shaft separated by three rings fixed to the shaft. The first ring fixed to the shaft has a groove along its edge but the oth er five rings are smooth. I do not know what this tool is used for.

One has face with three projections and the other has four. Each round face can be screwed onto an object by using one of tw o threaded metal collars. The manufacturer and tool name has been hidden.

Close...it's a hook for pulling on riding boots.

Skate lace tighteners have a short, pointy hook perpendicular to the T-hand le.

Hint: I now know what this tool is. It is used in the kitchen.

I carry one of these in my camp cooking box. I use it to pull the lid off dutch ovens while baking breads and desserts using wood coals on the dutch oven lids. Works better than an S hook.
