Miter Saw Upgrade - I Should Have Looked Before I Leaped

I have the 10" version of the Bosch Glide miter saw. The guy from the website has the 12" model.I watched his video on how to add an LED lamp to create a shadow line onthe work piece that shows exactly where the blade will cut. How cool! He's says under $20, the lamp was actually under $7. Even cooler!At about 2:35 of his video (below) he points out the plastic piece that needs to be removed and modified so that the lamp can be mounted directly in line with the blade. Simple enough.Alright, I'm going to do this. I ordered the lamp, it shows up today and I head down to the shop.Here's the part that needs to be modified: 's what my saw looks like: well, I'm sure I'll find another use for the lamp.Full video here:

All the more reason to not have to stick with it if it doesn't work. So what's the problem?

You see, that's the thing. You appear to be only one that thinks that I had considered, even for half a second, to stick with it.

As Eli The Bearded so rightly said "See subject"

The entire point of this thread was simply to point out, in a lighthearted manner, that I didn't look at my specific model of saw and incorrectly assumed that if the 12" model had a plastic cap, the 10" model had one too.

If I had walked down to my shop ("I should have looked") instead of surfing over to Amazon to buy the lamp ("before I leaped"), this thread never would have been posted.

Moving on...
