You might do better with FreeCycle depending on area. Still get timewasters, but not quite so obvious.

Easy enough to sort out - the timewasters rarely reply to an email.

My experience of trying to give things away is such that I generally no longer bother.

There's also freegle. One way to filter timewasters is to ask something simple of them. Eg to say what day/time they'd want to collect it.

Yes - same with FreeCycle. Some seem to reply saying they want it to everything on offer. But when you ask them when would they like to collect it go rather quiet. So never respond saying 'here's my address you can pick it up any time' ;-)

Better still, advertise it for a nominal sum (£10-£20 say) on Gumtree or similar. Even if you don?t want/need the money you?re more likely to get genuine interest from folk.

I still have the one that the previous owner left behind and that was 27 years ago.

The supports of the hot plate ring I use the most have rusted away, but no-one seems to make electric cookers that slot into a 55cm gap any more.

I would happily take, or pay a nominal sum for a more modern replacement, as a 'temporary' measure before getting the kitchen re-furbed.

Pretty sure the 55cm cookers are still available (but not necessarily cheaply).
