It does raise an interesting question towards the bottom though. Is it practical to combine PV and thermal in one panel? One assumes that PV panels, even without some form of light concentrator get hot so if you cool 'em surely you harvest even more of the energy per unit area?
It doesn't get around that PV cells are expensive both on the enviroment and finincial but adding water cooling to the assembly wouldn't add much to the cost thus improving the return.
Why doesn't anyone do "joined up thinking" anymore?
