You might be right, you might be wrong. Without the figures you can't say with any authority.

20 minutes from where to Olympia by van? And at what time?

Did you investigate using the train to Olympia? There's a very useful rather unknown line that goes from Clapham Junction to Willesen Junction via Earls Court and Olympia.

Ah, my apolgies if I inadvertently over-estimated your achievements.

Hmm, I don't think you have the hang of this socialising business. I find attending all of the performing arts to be social events, and I can't imagine why someone would turn their back on (say) Delicatessen, Amelie, Fargo, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Manon des Sources etc and believe that doing so had enriched their lives.

Printed paper, not veneer. With plastic handles.

No coffin, a board and a linen cerecloth - already prepared.

Buried, preferably on own land or a daughter's.

Loaded into the back of a son's van if we don't still have an estate car.

That will save an enormous amount of money which will go on champagne - or whatever folk want. You're all invited - well, almost all :-)

Now known as Vin Blanc Man...............

Did they teach you to spell at university

I've had the best education in the world.

Entirely self taught :-)

I'm not turning my back on anything - we go to the theatre several times a year, I've even been to football matches. But you discover for yourself what is most enriching, to me the society of real people is better at that than are shadows. However, I've been very fortunate in the real people I know.

Interaction isn't possible with films yet, is it?

Mary

Environmentaly unfriendly - plastic, chipboard, not for me.

Every response you give is a stock answer from the unintelligent brainwashed. Your ability to reason, or even to digest what you have read is zero.

I find the sight of someoen who has such a chip on his shoulder that he wants to drag everyone down to the gutter where he feels comfortable sad. That and the pathetic need to pretend to qualifications he does not possess.

You really need to a psychiatrist.

From Islington at 0830.

Not much use to me.

Oh! Perhaps I could be a late developer when I grow up :-)

I don't agree with that - surely it negates what you said above?

Indeed. And far more useful than media studies or the like.

None. Not that I think that the menial bit is appropriate, the Tesco part, however ... :-(

Mary

Not here in Leeds it isn't. I'm far too polite to say what our version is :-)

The Union of self employed Natural Philsophers, of which I am the sole member.

What I noted was that rewards are not in proportion to contributions to society, hard work, intelligence, education or anything other than being in a position to essentially blackmail someone who is in a position to pay you money. Lots of money if possible.

Ergo, the way to make it is to become indispensable to someone in that position. Then charge as much as you can getaway with.

In short I adopted the morality of the IMM world, the tradesman, and charged as much for my abilities as the fear uncertainty and doubt engendered by potential loss of them could arrange.

To put it another way, I stopped working for companies, and started working for customers, and myself.

They only teach typing a secretarial colleges.

[snip]

And do you imagine that it is a requirement to go to a film alone while wearing a burkha? To be escorted in a closed prison van to the door of the cinema and collected the same way?

It isn't possible with actors or singers at the theatre either, not unless you want to be escorted from the premises; or one spends a lot of time at pantomime.

You are a bigger fool than anyone else I have ever encountered.

There is no land owning aristocracy anymore.

Sorry to disappoint you mate, but since Nu Laber, they already have.

neighbours,

You should have asked if you could borrow his pipe cutters rather than use your hacksaw. Or you could have sent him round to sort your mate's problem in the first place, rather than c*ck up the repair yourself.

< snip drivelling bratinwashedness >

I love it when you come out with this crap, as I know you are riled.

You are clearly in cloud cuckoo land. The 66 ejected hereditary peers from the Lords owned between them the equiv of 4.5 average sized English counties. Then there is the ones that were not ejected. The Royal family controls approx the equiv of one averaged sized English county. We still have Lords, Earls, Dukes and other such garbage.

Amazing in a so-called democracy in a so-called 1st world educated country.
