Tailor's tape measure with a loop?

Nov 12, 2017 4 Replies

I remember back in the day that waist measurements used to be done with a tape measure with a brass loop at one end.

The measurer put the tape around your waist and then fed it through the loop and pulled gently until it was snug, then read off the reading.

All I can find on line at the moment are the budget ones which are just a soft tape with metal ends.

I find the simple tapes a bit of a faff, and |I think that to DIY my waist measurement the old style ones would be much easier and more accurate.

Google Fu has deserted me for the moment.

Anyone know of a source?

Pull hard enough and you can make it whatever you like...

This sort of thing?

Ah!

That would do the trick.

It would be nice to source from the UK but I'm not in that much of a rush.

Body measuring tape seems to be the key term. Uh, duh! Should have Googled what I wanted it for.

Thanks very much.
