My loyal Logitech M180 that I bought for only £7 in 2017 has packed up.
I want to replace it with an ideally rechargeable wireless mouse (over USB or even better Bluetooth) but the ones I find online are either:
- branded in the £40+ region, or
- unbranded, cheap, straight from Ch*na, anonymous sellers, no seller protection, no feedback, etc.
Am I asking too much?

I use a Logitech M650 (£24.99 at Currys), with its USB Dongle.
The mouse is not rechargeable, but, for me, that removes the hassle of plugging it in every so often. Instead it uses a standard AA cell, which they say lasts for up to 2 years ... I can't confirm that, as I've only had it 9 months or so.
I've had a couple of USB rechargeable logitech nice, they've been good,but logitech seem to be moving towards mice that last 12+ months on a single AA.
charging over bluetooth? no such thing.

Charging is another matter.
A rechargable AA works fine - at least a year, I'd guess.
My logitech mouse - used daily for hours at a time - eats an AA every 9 months or so
I bought an INPHIC Wireless Mouse Rechargable, [Upgraded], Ultra Slim Silent 2.4G Cordless from Amazon for a tenner recently.
Still less hassle than plugging it in regularly.
I agree. At a given point the mouse just stops responding. If the keyboard also stops its reboot time. If the mouse alone stops I nip downstairs to the Secret Battery Storage Area and grab a new one.
