I dont buy that. I have never bought the claim that brexit is guaranteed to be an economic disaster.

I dont buy that either given that it was Boris that gave him that job.

Yeah, its nothing even remotely like a poison chalice.

That's dishonest on your part.

Can't see he treating it like that.

But by doing so, you keep the rate artificially low and make in unviable for UK citizens to take up those jobs.

MPs are not particularly well paid (it is the consultancies and directorships that make the money). As an Engineer, I am paid as much as an MP and don't have the negatives of having to live and work away from home and family.

Why would it be unviable for UK citizens who don't have those flights almost every 6-8 weeks back and forth to Romania ?

I'm willing to accept that they know how much the public will pay for a given job. Or indeed firms they sub-contract to. And understand a balance sheet.

Adam already has a job. And I'd guess happy with it.

Because they will be able to get better paid jobs outside of the care profession.

Is this really so difficult?

How many couples on near minimum wage can purchase a house after 18 months?

Was it then impossible, under EU regs, to legislate for a decent minimum wage?

It's odd that so many true blue Tories who did their damnest before to keep down wages now try and tell us they wanted out of the EU to improve wages. Perhaps the biggest porkie around Brexit. More fool the common man for believing it.

And being on call effectively 7 x 24 - as are local councillors, too.

And, of course, this applies only to countries whose electoral systems force MPs and councillors to be accountable to their electorates. Like ours. In most if not all EU countries, f'rinstance, once elected, they can ignore their electorates.

Yet even the Tories would historically be proud of wages rising more quickly that inflation. More people who vote Tory tend to work than those who don't.

Only a fanatical remainer would call the stagnation of wages from Bliar opening the Eastern European worker floodgates to be a porkie.

More fool the fanatical remainers in denial of the labour supply market.

If anything Labour has seriously lost it's way in trying to represent the typical worker. Opening the floodgates under Bliar, not supporting the will of the people and Brexit and more recently sitting on the fence on the matter was always going to be another nail in their coffin.

We've already seen. It's awful and will just get worse. Now be a good boy and bugger off.

Increasing the minimum wage increases it for ALL jobs - some of which it might not be justified for. Removing a downward pressure allows those that SHOULD be worth more to rise.

There is no such number.

Ditto.

F*ck all in the building trade do.

Irrelevant to the fact that he isn't alone in the country.

Hardly anyone stays with the same employer for life anymore. In spades with the building trade.

Yep.

Bullshit it is for the unskilled and for plenty of the skilled too.

More remoaner lies.

The majority who bothered to vote in the referendum got what they voted for. You fools get to like that or lump it.

<reams of your s*it any 3 year old could leave for dead flushed where it belongs>

How would you know? You're a foreigner and don't have to live with the consequenses.

The standard of living in the UK is poorer today than it was in 2008.

Most will regard the job they do as important. And have a different idea how it should be paid relative to others.

For many it isn't.

It depends on whether you take the median or the average.

Next you'll be blaming the price hike in gas on Brexit. Some might say the EU is partly to blame through the decommissioning of a number of nuclear power stations thereby increasing demand on gas.

Or should we thank Germany in recent days for currently burning coal as a substitute for gas?
