That's precisely the reason he should be hoofed out before he can do any more damage.

Remember this?

Orchestrated by Thatcher, hundreds of rozzers were bussed in from all over the country, earning fortunes in overtime, with express orders to knock f*ck out of striking miners.

The Tory party at it's nastiest.

Not specially, I was out of the country at the time.

You're saying then, that there should just have been the local bobby and his bicycle? Otherwise what is the relevance of the above?

Pickets is the word you're looking for. Thousands of them.

The fact is that the country had had enough of the bollocks of the likes of Scargill, and the intimidation inherent in a mass picketing. What was needed were draconian laws to prevent it - and guess what - no one does it these days, and we're all a lot better off as a result.

As for SYP and their actions, well, it's well known that they're not the world's best police force, and not just in this regard either.

I lived opposite a police sergeant who took part in the goings on in Yorkshire. After a couple of pints he loved to brag about "sorting out" the strikers and getting paid huge sums of money for the privelige.

He made enough to retire soon afterwards.

I sort of hoped Brexit being 'done' would include the end of trade problems in NI, rather than creating them, and suitable trade agreements in place elsewhere to replace those we gave up with the EU.

Silly me for expecting Brexiteers to stick to their promises.

Wonder what the referendum result would have been if they'd simply said they wanted out of the EU regardless of any consequences?

Could you give some figures to support that?

Average pay of a job like a miner versus CEO etc pay? Pay rates as a relative amount across the spectrum of jobs? Nurses teachers doctors etc?

I think you'll find 'we' are not better off in relative terms. But some definitely are.

More fool you give the situation there.

Again, more fool you. That was never going to be possible.

No one was ever in any position to promise any of that.

That would have been a lie.

It's also well known that the government heavily backed SYP and continue to refuse an inquiry into the Orgreave events partly because as Amber Rudd stated "it would tarnish Thatcher?s memory".

Now do you see why the Nasty Party is so called?

It's understandable that a 9 year old might take "Smash the Tories" literally. Do you still now you've "grown up"?

You would be surprised just how violent and angry many labour mentally challenged people are.

The trouble with many socialists and labour people is that they think they are "right" in some fundamental way. They can't handle that other people may have other, valid, views. This makes them angry.

So just like you as regards socialism and the EU.

What you have just described is the classic right whinger.

No, it isn't. By and large conservatives are tolerant, quite conventional people who just want things to stay in a working condition and not wreck society because of some minor friction.

Possibly the odd Major Bufton-Tufton down the pub, perhaps, the character well-beloved of novelists but whom I have yet to see in any actual pub.

No, I was right the first time. It's the socialists I'm afraid - as we saw with Momentum and their antics. These are the people who hang effigies over road bridges with signs saying "Hang Boris" or similar. They are also the people shouting and screaming outside such as the Tory Party Conference. You ever heard of any Tories doing anything similar? No, I thought not.

Are you surprised? The average Tory today wants to control the world to his advantage. To the detriment of others. Socialism (in theory) is about fair doos for all.

All you need to do is look at the present cabinet for proof of this.

Well, we've had both a Labour and Conservative MP murdered in recent times. Neither by what most would consider political activists. Thought all you public school boys were brought up to have tougher skin?

In theory, nothing of the sort.

"Socialism is a political, social, and economic philosophy encompassing a range of economic and social systems characterised by social ownership of the means of production."

It is nothing about fairness. Fairness by some would be ability to pass wealth onto your children without high taxes.

In terms of what's in it for me, I look at the likes of Nick Clegg and his merry lot.

How do you explain the right whingers causing seismic changes by voting to leave the EU?
