Information here may be outdated?
I cannot see the link between not advertising and restricting free speech however...you have now given me a list of companies to support
Thank you.
The link is that by not advertising they are making the station less viable in the hope that it will close down. That will reduce the plurality of opinions that can be broadcast.
Bill
There has apparently been some bullying going on to dissuade firms from advertising there.
They have chosen not to advertise there, as they think it's counter-productive to do so. I doubt that they care whether the station shuts down. Why do you think they hope it will close?
Given its model is Fox News in the US, are you really surprised?
But I'm sure a false news channel in the UK will do very well indeed with some on here. ;-)

Did you watch the Andrew Neil interview with the Chancellor last night?
Or the commentary upon it from Michael Portillo and Liam Halligan in conversation with Neil immediately after it.
There hasn't been such a high quality of political interviewing (or commentary) on British TV since Andrew Neil left the BBC.
Or maybe its that the target audiences for GB News are not the same as the ones the advertisers want as customers so why should they waste their money?
Do you really think there's anyone whose money the advertisers don't actually want?
I don't think that is quite the case. They have "chosen" not to advertise there under pressure from some left-wing influencers - basically they have threatened to produce a boycott of the companies for advertising there.
Having watched a few things on the channel, I can't say I like it and am unlikely to make a habit of tuning in, but threatening companies to try and reduce advertising revenue and cause the channel to fold is just not on.
I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch Andrew Neil.
Portillo should stick to what he does well. Reporting on railway journeys.
You actually watch all political interviewing on British TV? You need to get a life.

There hasn't been any at all, in fact.

They've made statements saying that they don't approve of the station's stance on various issues.
Bill
It's nothing like Fox News.
Bill
That comment just shows how closed your mind is.
Bill
Yes, absolutely. Neil asks questions with forensic skill.
