David Frost..even Paxo juts runs a quiz show.

Portillo is a lot more than that and you know it and are afraid of it.

I've watched some of it. I was not impressed by what I saw other than Neil.

I should perhaps have said that the demographic of the audience does not match the product being advertised. Does that help?

No, it is the hate not soap clones who have threatened them by claiming that GB news is dangerously fascist racist and so on.

However a hour spent watching it shows this is far from the case. Unlike the BBC or guardian it is balanced debate, not relentless airing if simply one side of the issue.

The problem is that the other side of the issue is far more reasonable. Which is why they want to cancel GB news.

Denying it of advertising revenue is one way. No doubt they will be sitting there recording every minute in the hope of passing some complaint to OFCOM

However it seems to have backfired. Audience figures are pretty high, and te slight amateurishness and lack of polish (it is getting better) is actually rather endearing.

And the anchor people are quite endearing.

The N Ireland correspondent informed me more about NI politics than the BBC ever have.

No it's a success already

Actually the station *has* no stance.

*That* is the problem!

No, that is absolutely not the case.

The companies have to balance hatred by the hard left and bad publicity from that, against increased sales through advertising in an extremely popular startup channel.

No. But negative campaigning has driven companies out of business or out of the country. Huntingdon life sciences?

It never does. Advertising is very largely a shotgun approach.

But adverts for power companies, supermarkets and the like are pretty agnostic when it comes to target market.

And what is the audience makeup? If you think you know, you are a bigot, just as the organisation that lobbied the advertisers were...

A lot of the format is lifted from chat radio - inviting feedback from the public. Rather than laying down the Party line as the OneTrueSpin

Bullshit, most obviously with BREXIT.

Who, me?

You must mean the PP.

A lot of right-wingers in the UK too.

I am getting confused about who 'they' is. You listed a load of firms, including Ikea, and then said that they hoped GB News would close down. I don't believe that Ikea cares even a tiny bit about GB News, so maybe you meant something else?

Hate not Hope, obv.

I think you've missed out. I would have thought you would have enjoyed his style of interview, especially with politician you may not like.

I guess if you don't like to see politician you like being asked awkward questions I can see why you might avoid him.

Why the issue? You seem easily surprised.

I think it's Stop Funding Hate who are trying to orchestrate the advertising blacklist, they list most of the advertisers on their website, funny they haven't put the Panda/Polar bear Huggers on the list.

Well, if you say so, with your vast experience in marketing, it must be so.

Yes, thats why funerals and life assurance are sold on childrens TV

You really think and believe that?

I posited the view that maybe the target audience wasn't the one that the advertisers sought to market to. They are the ones who do the analysis and decide where to spend their money for the best return.

So you can only campaign positively and presumably only in respect of those companies/businesses you support? Not very democratic that is it? Weren't you the one who was upholding the view that both sides should be heard?
