I ordered a motorcycle battery from Tayna Batteries (via eBay) on Friday evening with next working day delivery.
I received an eBay order confirmation with a request to check the details of the battery for correct fit and to contact them if there were any issues.
On Saturday I received a confirmation email from Tayna saying the battery had been dispatched, the .pdf invoice and the Yodel tracking number.
Email Sunday morning from Yodel confirming the package was with them and would be delivered on Monday between 9:15 and 11:15.
Checking the tracking online this morning and it showed I was drop No
9 out of 106 and the van was round the corner on drop 5.
At 09:50 the doorbell rang and the package was on the step, the driver at the bottom of the garden and he said 'Good morning' and I thanked him.
By the time I sat back down the online app said it had been delivered. ;-)
I think Yodel were one of the first 'value' Couriers to provide a good tracking service?
The battery is now on charge and will be fitted later. ;-)
Cheers, T i m
p.s. The battery was very well packed, not only in it's own box but in an additional box and surrounded by polystyrene slabs, including (pleasingly and most importantly) underneath [1]. There were no signs on the box suggesting it hadn't been handled properly / dropped etc.
[1] The number of packages I've received where they have put a fairly fragile item in the bottom of a box and then just put some fairly loose packaging on top? ;-(
