OT: VPN

Not really DIY, but I am trying to sort it out myself. Does anyone know of a VPN site that has a guest account? I'm trying to test my PC/router/ISP with a VPN connection. It has been working this morning, but now it will not connect properly. Other users are able to connect so I am suspecting my ISP (unless the router has decided to throw a wobly).

Check your isp has not suddenly introduced a firewall on your account as has happened with some Plusnet accounts. If this is the problem your can lower the security level thro' the portal to get it to work. Gaz

Hi

I'm happy to do some testing with you if you like. We use a Cisco PIX as our VPN endpoint here.

That's a kind offer, thank you. I'd need an IP, username and pwd. I'll send you an email.

But, for some funny reason, it's working again without me touching anything (apart from the connect icon).

Is it possible that you hit the user limit? Some VPN's have a limit on how many users can simultaneously connect, so maybe the other users consumed all the available connections?

Thanks for the idea, but no. I was trying to VPN connect and also having an MSN conversation with the IT manager, he could see my PC attempting the connection, and shortly afterwards another employee connected without problem. After he disconnected, I still couldn't connect.
