And you think that any different from anywhere else in the world?

Thanks for the heads up to that programme.

tim... presented the following explanation :

It sounds like it was cobbled together by a 16 year old school leaver.

Is there an 'About' button?

I wonder how long it will be before *everyone's* medical records are hacked and posted on some website for anyone to snoop into. What are the odds on that happening, I wonder? Not so long I'd guess.

I recall saying that at least twice already

nothing useful

though TBH, of all the things that my (professional) experience tells me should be improved on this site

adding information about the server software that the practice uses, is not one of them

MiL (age 88) has just spent three weeks in hospital effectively caused by "over prescription" by her GP. She is not completly innocent, she comes from the generation that "doesn't want to make a fuss" and won't ever question what a doctor says.

On admission to hospital, in a life threatening condition, they looked at the long list fo drugs and find that some are contra-indicated, others there to treat the side effects of another when that could (should) have been changed to another drug without the side effect etc...

I assume that you have looked through

which seems to have helpful hints on requesting access.

P.S. I have never used this system - the surgery currently uses SystemOnline.

Seems particularly relevant to your issues.

Dave R

yes

but I have no "request access" buttons available

tim

do you mean SystmOnline (sic)

(what were they thinking?)

tim

From the web site help, that suggests that the feature may not been enabled by the surgery.

However allegedly you should see:

Service Enabled

or

Disabled by practice

or

Request access

Are you not seeing any of these?

As a side note, I assume that you are in England or certain parts of Northern Ireland?

"Note: Certain services, such as viewing your medical record, nominating a pharmacy, changing contact details and messaging, are only available to practices in England and certain parts of Northern Ireland at this time. Your practice decides which of the available services they make available to their patients."

I assume that you have probably already been down this route; just sanity checking.

All very weird.

Dave R

ITYF that's where I came in

tim

It wasn't clear to me if you couldn't see the service at all on the web page, or that it was visible but listed as "Disabled by Practice".

If it is shown as "Disabled by Practice" then that seems open and shut, if you wave a screen print under their nose.

Noting that I haven't looked back to previous threads.

Dave R

It's not

it is missing completely

Ah!

Have you considered sending a screen print to Patient Access and a link to their help page asking them to explain?

I'm waiting until my appointment with the doctor later this week (scheduled because of adverse results - that I can't see)

FTAOD we aren't takling anything life threatening

Though TBH, 5 years or so ago there would have been no option for me to see the results before attending the appointment, you'd just get the letter "your results are back, and require you to make an appointment to see the doc to discuss"

tim

Earlier this year I visited a Biobank centre for a number of scans and tests, as part of their ongoing national study. No feedback is anticipated, unless they happen to spot something.

A couple of months later, the surgery rang to say that I needed to speak to a doctor "within 7 days". You can imagine the possible scenarios that were going through my head until I could have that conversation.

Turned out to be query bone density, more tests needed. I was relieved, but more than a little concerned that they gave me the news in such a vague manner, leaving me worrying for several days.

Chris

well all sorted now

despite (twice) telling me that I was automatically configured to access test results, when checked today they discovered that I wasn't.

Lazy ********

So my Urea level is 8 (that's almost 3 times normal!)

tim

well at least you are not full of s*it...
