Nailer/Stapler - Hand or Electric?

What are you going to use it for?

I need to buy an inexpensive Nailer/Stapler - I see Argos do a Rapesco electric one for approx £20 whilst B&Q do a couple of hand ones (Rapesco and Stanley) for about the same. They appear to take the same size staples and nails - which would I be better going for?

Have you got a "Netto's" near you........ they are in there for £7.99 complete with loads of staples and nails, look quite good as well.

First job is for fastening bamboo or reed screening in the garden, but I might as well get one that will be useful in the future. ie trellis, netting and who knows what!

The small ones take 25mm nails, but I have found that they can't shoot them all the way through the wood - you have to tap it home with a hammer. Having said that I have only used it on ply and wood, not on cane or reed. Bearing in mind the limitations - I have been happy with it and it has made starting the nail off far easier than holding the wood, nail and then banging it with a hammer!
