Leaking syphon on dual flush wc

Hi all,

Found a couple of references to this topic in the archives but no real solution.

We have a dual flush wc, one of those with two buttons in the lid of the cistern. Anyway, the problem is that the thing is continually letting water through into the pan.

I dismantled the "syphon" bit today and kind of figured out how it works, there's a rubber seal that looked like it need a good clean. So cleaned it and reassembled everything.

Still leaks, it does look like the pipe that the seal is attached to is leaning slightly and may be causing it to not seat properly.

Anyway, does anyone know how to fix this? The whole unit is just over 2 years old.

If I have to replace it, what's the thing called?

cheers Mitch

hi mitch has the cistern got a overflow pipe? if it is the type with overflow into the pan rather than an external overflow, then it may be that it is ovefilling the cistern, ie water level too high. could be just needing adjustment or washer on the ball valve regards bob

Bob,

I checked this, it has the overflow down inside the syphon, but no the water level isn't reaching the top of the overflow pipe.
