Don''t just 'remake' the connection, buy new plugs and sockets and cut the wire back to where its nice and shiny.,
Sorry "buzz out" - just both ends of the stator winding (or windings if there are more than one) - there should be continuity. A broken winding would be open circuit or high resistance.
Sounds more like a loose connection or tarnished pin in the plug/socket.

There are four stator connections, and there was continuity across pairs. I cleaned up the connectors, but all to no avail. It has now been replaced. Much as I don't like throwing stuff out, I reckoned that at anything even vaguely approaching commercial rates, the time I'd spent on trying to fix it had bought 2-3 new ones.
