I?m no cat expert but, haven?t you to keep it indoors for a month or so until it gets used to it?s new home? Almost an ideal distraction, in the circumstances.

Presumably it will need injections etc, are the vets still doing those?

It came in a van kitted out to take 2 cats, each with their own 'suite' with water and a litter tray.

Given what he's ultimately cost he ain't leaving the house anytime soon. And the missus is demanding a catio, Google it!

He's had everything he needs for his 1st year.

The fekker keeps pulling the power lead out of my laptop, gonna have to sort a battery.

That'll teach you to use the laptop instead of playing with the cat.

My cat will only sleep on the LHS of the bed but only knows one way to get there. ie jump on the RHS and walk across me stamping me in the bollocks and Lou on her t*ts (if she is there).

Not quite as expensive as I was expecting. When I first read your post I assumed it was going to be £500 or more. Probably not a bad idea, I understand some cats get stolen / kidnapped - especially rare breeds. I'm not sure how much exercise a cat needs. You don't tend to think of them moving around much.

Am I right in thinking cats don't need to be 'chipped' by law, unlike dogs?

And remember to empty any shelves, never leave a drink by your laptop / HiFi / Tablet, don't leave that email you typed but didn't mean to send open on the desktop and if/when you do let it out to roam the neighbourhood, be ready for neighbours to stop talking to you. ;-(

Oh, and cover any light coloured furniture in case someone puts black grease on the top of their fence and it walks it back home ...

And why would they / you feel the need to do that just because their / your cat s*1t's in someone else's garden and they object to it? Would you rather the cat just disappeared or was poisoned?

FWIW, I've never put grease down and AFAIK, the person who did never received any retaliation but the owner of the cat did keep it in her house / garden more (which was the goal).

Rarely suffered cats in our garden because of the dogs / and PIR triggered water jet. ;-)

Sounds very familiar. Ours has taken to sleeping on my chest and I wake up with its face about 2" away from mine. Still, at least it doesn't lie the other way round...
