Gas Hob Burners problem

Jan 05, 2023 Last reply: 3 years ago 4 Replies

A zanuzzi kitchen Hob with four gas burners has the steel Top Caps rusting. (They Comprise of Steel Discs with an enamel layer on the top side ).

They are dropping Masses of Rust from the Steel under side on to the gas nozzles below.

I have tried burning lubricating oil on to the steel surface to seal it, but this only lasts for a short time.

The issue is that very small bits of rust are likely to drop into the gas nozzles. Grateful for any ideas

Does the manufacturer produce a similar model with stainless-steel caps?

Have you looked on eBay? Sqillions of replacement Zannusi gas burner caps there.

Also what was it cleaned with, could be that the abrasive cleaner has made it rust due to removal of whatever plating or enamel was there. Brian

Does it matter? I'd have thought turning the gas on would just blow and debris out. My Zanussi hob has beeen fine for the 11-odd years it's been installed.
