Hummy software writers aim for "update to add one new feature whilst breaking two that are already there" and then not issuing a fix for the feature that they have broken.

First time is arguably an oversight the second time is laziness on the third occurrence it starts to look like it's company policy

Would seem so. The update to mine a few months ago didn't actually improve anything important to me.

Although not actually found anything I'd describe as broken.

It's a BT badged HD Humax - cheap as part of an offer some time ago, when BT TV started. So likely has slightly different software. But I also have an HDR Fox S2 which seems pretty similar.

Another niggle is not being able to tell if a recording has been watched on a streaming box (H3) rather than the main box or alternatively being able to delete the recording from the H3 after you've watched it. I have to keep asking my wife to sit with me for a few minutes while we go through what she has and hasn't watched in the kitchen - which isn't always easy, as she works nights.
