Bosch dishwasher: front panel removal...

Jan 20, 2006 5 Replies

Does anyone know how I go about removing the oak panel from the front of a Bosch dishwasher? I just want to change the handle to match the other new ones on everything else, but have to get the decor panel off as the old handle is stuck fast!

Model is SGV4313GB/17, it's a full size integrated model.

Is it a complete nightmare to try to remove this panel? There's a Torq screw visible through a slot on each edge of the door, but not sure if it's anything to do with panel removal.

TIA, Ice

I've got this one. IIRC, there are Torx screws which go right through the door from the inside (ie, not the edge of the door), and into the wood of the panel. I think there was probably a 'key' arrangement? Whereby after removing the screws, you have to slide the panel parallel to the door a but before it pulls away?

(Have you tried the Bosch website for a manual by the way?)

Hi David, I've tried to locate the manual on the Bosch website, but can't seem to navigate to the right area of the site. It just says the product is no longer available...

I'll try loosening a few of the torx screws you've mentioned, and see if it moves the panel. I was somewhat worried having read a few other posts where people suddenly had various bits of DW pinging out all over the shop!! Thanks for the info, and have a good weekend.

The manual is on the web site. I have just been looking at it.

Hmm, ok I'll have another look. Have tried loosening the torx screws and they do indeed seem to loosen the front cover - looking good so far. Thanks guys.

You need to get to spares and launch the Quick finder, then put your number in.
