Coach builders or bus company that does its own body work repairs?

B&Q sell aluminium sheet.

If you want larger sheets, look up a non ferrous metal stockist in Yellow Pages. But you'll have to by rather more than you need.

Sounds almost an offcut. Look up metal fabricators in Yellow pages.

What's that in real dimensions?

AIUI 3 metres is about 10 feet - B&Q metal sheets aren't *that* big :-)

I used to get pieces of aluminium like that from a scrap metal place in Dunstable. It's gone now, but you could try looking for a nearby scrap metal merchant.

True, but perhaps if it is to be jointed more than one joint would be ok.

The OP said it doesn't matter if it's in 2 pieces. Ignoring the overlap for joining I still haven't seen any ali sheets in (a very big) B&Q anywhere near 5 feet long. (Apart from possible roof cladding in the emporium).

Go to a local 'litho' printers the plates they used are large ali sheets. you will need to clean them with braso to remove the image on them but it will work a treat.

Somewhat less than 1mm thick, though :-)
