Replace old Bird Stop on a Pre-Engineered Metal Building

Dec 13, 2012 1 Replies

We have purchased a pre-engineered metal building and the bird stop has dry rotted and needs replaced. What materials and installation methods do you recommend?

Doesn't matter if you have Vented Inserts or Spikes, either should be metal. Galvanized steel is good, but use Stainless Steel if it can be found. For installation, you should follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your construction type. I presume a metal building with corrugated metal roof panels would be best served by installing the bird stop to the siding just under the roof overhang. In case they ever need to be replaced again.
