Stud Finder

Finally got around to testing the stud finder from the Place-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named*. Street price is $9.95. The instrument does an accurate job.

It finds studs, which is what you'd expect a stud-finder to do. It also finds METAL studs (or any metal) behind the wall. That is, it might do a fair job on pipes.

It finds, and traces, current carrying wires and will tell you, via a beep, if an electrical outlet is live.

All of these detections feature variable sensitivity.

And, just for grins, it includes a pretty bright LED light AND a 36" ruler (so you can measure over 16" (or 24") for the next stud!).

Beats the heck out of my 20-year old former unit, which mainly just guessed!

No, I am salivating thinking about all the tools in my newly opened Harbor Frreight that I haven't even discovered uses for yet.

Strange you should mention that; I ran my new stud finder over my crotch. It lit up and beeped! (the tool, not my crotch)

On the "wood" setting.

Evidently the thing has other uses.

Depends on your state of mind at the time or the medication you may be using. A friend of mine was on a medication that inhibited his normal state of tumescence when it was required for matrimonial duties so his physician prescribed Viagra to compensate for his lack of performance. The only problem was he stayed in an embarrassing state all the time and had to wear an apron at work so as not to give his customers the wrong idea. Of course if you are in a lignified state at all times, you are either a teenager or have some odd predilections and a very active imagination. ^_^
