Product recall

"18,500 of its 2009 [Volkswagen] Routan minivans are being recalled because their owner's manuals don't include a required warning not to put items on or near the airbag."

Note there's nothing wrong with the vehicle, it's the user's manual that's defective.

They don't really take the vehicles back in a recall. You just schedule an appointment with the dealer you bought it from for the fix.

Agreed. Sloppy journalism; just because the NHTSA website is called "Defects and Recalls", the individual wanted to hilite the issue. The person would do well this side of The Pond working for one of our "gutter press" that specialise in sensationalism. "Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story".

Since it is made by Chrysler, I wonder if they wrote the book.
