Website popup ads are annoying enough-- but now on many sites, they've morphed into popovers that cover the entire screen and have to be X'ed off.
I've quit going to a few of my formerly favorite sites because of this nonsense!

Yes, that's my observation also.
We all make our choices. Was there a point to be made?
On my phone, yes. On my computer, no. I use AdBlock and it works well.
On my computer, I use uBlock Origin. On phones, I also use Firefox in private mode. On the computer, I also open the most intrusive sites in a private Window. Many don't bother to ask about cookies, they know they will be deleted on exit.
There was, but apparently it also served as bait drawing a pedantic ass comment ;-)
